Difference Between Sales Journal And Sales Ledger


Sales Journal VS Sales Ledger In Accounting1. Sales Journal shows all the credit sales transactions chronologically (Date-Wise) while Sales Ledger shows the total of balances and final closing balance for Credit Sales.

3. Sales Journal is used to record daily Credit Sales Transactions made with customers while a Sales Ledger is prepared to show the final results of all of these Transactions i.e., how much amount due from our customers or in other words what is the total value of Credit Sales and closing amount that is recorded in Income Statement.





4. Sales Journal is the recording phase of Accounting i.e., Bookkeeping, so it is called Books of Original Entry while Sales Ledger shows the final results i.e., Credit Sales Amount Transferred To Income Statement. So, it is called Books of Final Entry.
