Prove that a = F / m According To Newton’s Second Law of Motion

Here we need to prove that a = F / m or there is an inverse relationship between acceleration (a) and mass (m) of the body if a force is applied on the body.

We already know that according To Newton’s Second Law of Motion:

 So from this equation, we get:

a = F / m

Now, here is the proof that:

a = F / m

Suppose a body of Mass 10 kg is moving by applying a Force of 30 N, then what is the acceleration of the body?

We know that:

F = ma

a = F / m

a = 30 / 10 = 3

Left Hand Side = a = 3m/s2

Now taking Right Hand Side, we get:

Right Hand Side = F / a

Right Hand Side = 30 / 10

Right Hand Side = 3 (Newton / Kg)

Hence a = F / m

Hence we have proved that there is an inverse relationship between a and m of the body according to Newton’s Second Law of Motion.
