Difference Between Account And Accounting

The main or primary difference between Account and Accounting is that an Account is a summarized record of a person or a thing which is studied in the Accounting, a branch of Accountancy.

In Accounting 5 Main Types of Accounts are studied. The whole accounting revolves around these accounts. So, these accounts are also called 5 pillars of Accounting. These are Assets, Liabilities, Equity, Revenues and Expenses.

Accounts are recorded according to the Rules of Debit And Credit of Accounting. So Accounting is a wider term in which different types of accounts are studied.
