Difference Between Receipt And Purchase Voucher



Receipt And Purchase VoucherReceipt is an evidence document to show a proof of purchase of goods, services, Assets or properties exchanged or transferred between buyer and seller against some monetary value while Purchase Voucher is issued by the company for its own business records for the confirmation of purchase order made to suppliers or vendors.



Receipt is an external document while purchase voucher (Which is one of the Types of Voucher) is an internal document.


Receipt includes date of purchase, payment amount, refund policy, etc while purchase voucher includes date, payment amount, bank account number, name of accounts payable / creditors / suppliers or vendors, signatures, etc.



So, the main or primary difference between Receipt And Purchase Voucher is that a receipt is an external document as a proof of purchase of goods, services or assets or properties exchanged or transferred between buyer and seller against an agreed price while a purchase voucher is issued by the company for its own business’s records in order to confirm the purchase order from accounts payable department when the company received the invoice from the supplier or vendor.
