Memo Versus Brief

A Memo is a way to communicate internally within an organization. It is used to communicate internally only and not for external communication or outside the organization. It takes place between or among members of an organization. A memo is used to convey a message to different group of people in an organization. From time to time, members want to convey message for different purposes and memo is one of the way to do so.



A brief is a summary or statement of instructions, arguments, facts etc., in order to prepare a person for making decisions, organizing a meeting, conducting project ceremony, presenting a presentation, etc. For example, a brief related to empowerment issue is given to board of directors by Management before holding a meeting with president of the organization in order to settle the problem as soon as possible.
